Her main area of research is environmental health, in which she conducts epidemiological studies on the role of environmental exposures, mainly air pollution and heavy metals, on respiratory, cardiovascular, reproductive health and cancer. Laura Rodríguez is the leader of the Environmental and Occupational Health Node (SAO) of Colombia.
