Chemical Engineer from the National University of Colombia, Bogotá campus (1996) and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom (2002), with a thesis on diesel engine emissions. He was Visiting Professor at the University of Los Andes between 2002 and 2006, Associate Professor at the National University of Colombia, Bogotá campus from 2006 to the present, and Visiting Researcher at the University of Wisconsin – Madison (Fulbright-Ecopetrol scholarship) in 2015. He is a researcher in air quality, with interest in the contribution of pollution sources, the estimation of emissions inventories, exposure to particulate matter, and the estimation of the impacts of air pollution on public health. He is currently the director of the Air Quality Research Group at the National University of Colombia, Bogotá campus and part of the scientific committee of the IGAC (International Global Atmospheric Chemistry) project and the organizing committee of the IGAC-ICACGP 2022 scientific conference.
